About Us
Delay No More was born from a simple idea: life’s too short to wait for that perfect moment to crack open that special bottle. In a fast-moving city like London, it's hard to find good timing for good booze with good people, so we created a neighbourhood bottle shop where great wine and other great drinks are meant to be discovered, shared, and enjoyed now, with no rush and no fuss.
Our namesake is also an homage to our heritage.
Who Are We?
Hello, Tak and Kar here. We're a sibling duo with roots from Hong Kong. We've grown up and been all over the world, and more importantly, we’ve been in the drinks industry for far too long - over 20 years combined and counting. Having worked for "The Man" so long, and fed up with the lack of diversity and accessibility in the London wine scene, we decided to do something for ourselves. Because if not now, then when?
During the tail end of Covid, we embarked on our flagship bottle shop Delay No More. Our namesake is a cheeky nod to our Hong Kong heritage. At Delay No More, we focus on low-intervention wines, craft beers, speciality spirits like sake, and other drinks. We also stock Asian-inspired goods including snacks and lifestyle products. Everything we do is based on quality products, showcasing the underdogs, discovering something new, and building community.
Based in Bermondsey, we hope to add new flavour and share our culture to the vibrant neighbourhood.
Why Delay No More?
We're from Hong Kong and in Cantonese, "Delay No More" sounds like a frequently spoken swear word: "屌你老母" diu nei lo mo, which translates to "fuck your mum."
This phrase is commonly used, not always explicitly, sometimes said affectionately, and very characteristic of HongKonger colloquialism. Everyone from a toddler to your grandma says it.
Crude and hilarious Cantonese aside, we like to think of "Delay No More" akin to carpe diem or YOLO. Life is short, so drink that drink, do that thing, be that person. What are you waiting for?
